Gallery Donations

The foundation and glue to our continued efforts in the various exhibitions, projects, school scholarship opportunities, and artist development/ LGBTQIA+ support services are largely held together by donations from our artists, collectors, and members of the communites to whom we serve.

Your support ensures Waynesville, NC continues to have an accepting gallery space committed to inspire creativity and mindful awareness in both social and political challenges, while representing young and established creatives alike who through showcasing their talents are provided a platform where their voices can be heard.

ThirstyCanvas was started as an annual art auction and event where artists across multiple mediums come together to bring collectors an affordable, high energy, street level, and adrenaline pumping art auction in support of expanding art education and mentorship opportunities to the young artists of Western North Carolina.

There are two main events throughout the year, beginning with the ThirstyCanvas Auction in fall and ending with our high school juried exhibition in spring, where all interested junior and senior high school students within the 23 counties of Western North Carolina are encouraged to apply. Students in the junior category will be competing for $500 in supplies along with a senior residency at the gallery where their work will be on display as they receive a wealth of professional development and mentorship services covering CV and Artist Statements, Certificate of Authenticity development, grant applications, project proposals, and much more. The student awarded a senior residency will also receive automatic entry to the exhibition during the following year. Students competing in the senior category are up for looking to take home new supplies, cash, and the grand prize college scholarship.

This year, the ThirstyCanvas Auction will be taking place on November 20th, 2021 downstairs at Boojum Brewing Co inside "The Gem".
